The fateful year 1918 marked the end of the First World War and the fall of three of the oldest and most influential royal houses in Europe: the Habsburgs, the Hohenzollerns, and the Romanovs. This set contains an Austrian 20 kronen, cated 1913, with 1919 overprint; a Russian 5 rubles, dated 1909; an imperial German 100 marks, from 1908; and a 1917-18 Kriegsgeld 50 pfennigs notgeld, with portrait of the Kaiser, Hindenburg, and Ludendorff.
